Nirvair Lall caused the death of his friend, 25-year-old Inderjot Singh by careless driving while unfit through drink.
Nirvair Lall had been drink driving when he crashed his car into a tree, killing his passenger, Inderjot Singh.
Nirvair Lall initially claimed he had not been involved in the crash, but later said he had been a passenger in the rear seat and that the driver ran off.
However, CCTV showed him drinking earlier on and later getting into the drivers seat and Inderjot Singh getting into the passengers seat and driving off.
It was also noted that they had both been wearing electronic tags at the time of the crash having just been released from prison. THe tag showed that he had been driving at 70mph in a 30mph speed zone.
